CharityWorks helps non-profits by supporting programs that transform lives and have an impact today, tomorrow and in the future.
CharityWorks 2013 Partners

CharityWorks was created in 1999 to make a difference in the lives of children and families in the Washington Metropolitan area. Each year, we undertake extensive due diligence to select partners that will be the beneficiaries of a year-long series of fundraising and community service activities. Since the attacks of 9/11, we have expanded our mission to support service members and their families, especially those facing the catastrophic effects of combat injuries and war-related illnesses.

  • In the poorest DC area neighborhoods, only 1/3 of students finish high school and only 5 percent receive a college degree. CPE enables students to attend high-performing private and charter schools, helps youths build strong relationships with volunteer mentors, and offers college and career readiness programs for all four years of high school. CPE's model has consistently produced successful results; since 2005, 100 percent of CPE's graduating seniors have enrolled in college. Nationally, only 20 percent of low-income students who start college actually finish, compared to 73 percent of CPE graduates who finish college on time.

  • Fisher House:   Fisher Houses provide a "home away from home" for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and veteran medical centers.
When serious injury or illness strikes a military service member, the resultant emotional, financial, and physical stress can be devastating. With our help, families will no longer have to pay the fee required for staying at a Fisher House. CharityWorks is also proud to be assisting Fisher House in providing scholarships to the children of service members.
