CharityWorks helps non-profits by supporting programs that transform lives and have an impact today, tomorrow and in the future.
CharityWorks 2011 Partners

CharityWorks was created in 1999 to make a difference in the lives of children and families in the Washington Metropolitan area. Each year, we undertake extensive due diligence to select partners that will be the beneficiaries of a year-long series of fundraising and community service activities. Since the attacks of 9/11, we have expanded our mission to support service members and their families, especially those facing the catastrophic effects of combat injuries and war-related illnesses.

  • Live It Learn It:   The World around the Corner
Ignites a priceless love of learning by teaching core content and skills to DC's hardest-to-reach students using the region's world-class cultural, historical and natural resources. Students in poor neighborhoods of our nation's capital, one of the most educated and culturally rich cities in the country, lag shamefully behind their peers nationally. Their academic and life chances are bleak. Education -- and life - for these students often takes place solely within the insular and often impoverished confines of their classes and neighborhoods.

  • ThanksUSA:   THE GIFT OF EDUCATION
Faced with extended deployments, frequent moves, and the demands of supporting a family, many military spouses place their educations on hold. With the generous help of private, corporate and federal funding, ThanksUSA is able to remove a barrier to a better life for military spouses and dependents. ThanksUSA is a non-partisan organization that mobilizes Americans of all ages to provide tangible thanks to the men and women serving our country and defending our freedom. Founded by two young sisters, Rachel and Kelsi Okun, while still in elementary school, ThanksUSA has become one of the most ambitious scholarship programs available to military families.
